Ever since I can remember it's been following
With it's hand on the doorway and it's harrowing
Every move it's there, whispers in the hallway
Shadows tear my skin back, flayed before me!

While I'm sitting in the chair, I can feel it's stare
From the corner of the room, silence in the air
Candles blown out, the only light is from the moon
Shadows dig their claws inside my brain, it plagues me!

Running through the fields of corn, to the forest floor
It always finds me, it always will forevermore
My screams of horror echo through the wooded mist

It hears my deranged caterwauling beyond sanity
With it's hand on my shoulder, burning agony
Never leave my side, never ever leave me be

Just a set of solitary footprints in the snow
Yet it's always there, none of you will ever know
Gouge my eyes out, vanquish my lucidity

It hears my wretched pleas
It stares with apathy
I feel it's sinking teeth

Traversing.....widdershins.....solivagant.....wandering under the endless moon

A harrowing and driving journey of emotion, expertly dashing between dissonance and powerful consonance (as another person said) in a way that takes you on a scary-yet-smooth journey through ripping thorn thickets and out into a blessedly open clearing, before plunging you back into the thicket in your mad dash. The concept is rock solid, the non-Western scales are refreshing and are excellently hammered into both dissonant and non-dissonant moods, the songwriting is very well crafted. pinkytheent
